It was confirmed April 24, 2012 that a case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) was found in a dairy cow in central California.

“BSE is a progressive neurological disease among cattle that is always fatal,” said USDA Chief Veterinary Officer, John Clifford.

The carcass of the animal was held under State authority. It was reported that the animal was not intended to be slaughtered for human consumption.

For more information, see the full statement given by USDA Chief Veterinary Officer, John Clifford.

A “flash mob” defined by dictionary.com, is… a group of people mobilized by social media to meet in a public place for the purpose of doing an unusual or entertaining activity of short duration.

Farmers Fight held a flash mob this afternoon by the fountains of the newly renovated Memorial Student Center (MSC).

This wasn’t your typical flash mob, it was more of a mob like gathering (minus any riots) listening to the flashy spoken words of one individual. After a couple Yell Leaders shouted out Texas A&M University’s traditional “Farmers Fight” yell, on came Jasmine Dillon to the stage and here’s what she had to say…

Even though the advocacy day for Farmers Fight has come and gone, doesn’t mean we can’t keep passing on the message.
